Does google page rank from a foreign website with high pr give me the same boost as a English website would?

I have a home page link from a pr 6 site, but the site is in a diff langauge sept my link, do i still receive the same as if it was from a English website backlink?

    You would think so? I have one of my sites listed in directorys with languages that I dont even speak, but Google recognizes them as a link on google.com/webmaster?
